Four musicians with diverse musical backgrounds, all living in the East of Wales who have come together to provide lively and energetic interpretations of the traditional music of Wales and the Marches, spiced with a few of their own compositions.
Hogiau’r Gororau have performed in a variety of locations since the band formed in 2002.Festival appearances include Linz and Villach (Austria)2003, Reet (Belgium)2004 and 2005, Broadstairs Folk Week 2004, Celts in the Cotswolds 2005 and Yn Chruinnaght (Isle of Man) 2005.
They have played live on Genevieve Tudor’s Sunday Folk programme on BBC Radios Shropshire, Stoke and Hereford and Worcester in 2004 and 2005. The band also competed and performed at the Welsh National Eisteddfod in 2003.
The band has a string of other performances to its credit – local folk events, twmpathau (Welsh barn dance) weddings and assorted local and national gigs.
